Spontaneous Trip to Ottawa

Style in White :: Spontaneous Trip to OttawaDoes it ever happen to you that your husband surprises you with a one-day roadtrip to a different city? Mine did it last week. He decided to break the routine and do something unusual, like a spontaneous trip to Ottawa. It was his idea, and I’m glad he took the initiative to plan something different for the two of us.

Remember my post about the secrets of having a healthy marriage? The last tip was about going on dates. Since my husband reads my blog, I wouldn’t be surprised to know that he took this tip to heart and applied it in our lives. 🙂

When we arrived to Ottawa, Timon brought us to a cozy small restaurant called Wilf & Ada’s for brunch. I really liked the decor and the different paintings of famous people on the walls. I wanted something light so I ordered a chili salad. It tasted amazing! The food may look simple, but every bite feels like an explosion of flavors that excites your taste buds.

However, the highlight of our trip was visiting the National Gallery of Canada. It was more fun than I expected. I had a burst of creativity when I saw the different kinds of art from around the world.

What do you and your significant other like to do when you’re going on dates? Do you know of any interesting places inside and outside of the city that you can share? 🙂
