Style in White :: Breakfast in a JarHow long does it take you to get ready for work in the morning? I always give myself an hour: to shower, dress up, put on some makeup, do my hair, prepare breakfast and do my devotions. I set my alarm at 7am and try to get out of the house at 8am. But guess what? I always end up waking up 30 minutes later (7:30am) and rush to do everything in half the time. Obviously, it’s impossible.It takes me at least 15 minutes to shower and another 15 minutes to do my makeup and hair. So, most of the time, I get ready in 30 minutes and leave the house without makeup on and no breakfast. The makeup part is not a problem. I put makeup on the bus and it takes me only 5 minutes (concealer, powder and mascara). The breakfast causes a problem. I normally don’t have time to prepare myself (and for the husband) a good and nutritious breakfast. It’s important for me to eat in the morning because I find myself having more energy when I do so. I’m always looking for new, healthy and quick breakfast recipes that I can prepare and eat on-the-go. When I stumbled upon this recipe on Krystelle’s blog, I was excited to try it out the next morning. I’ve been following Krystelle on Instagram for a while, but never took the time to try one of her recipes until recently. And today, I’d like to share with you one of her recipes that I like to call “Breakfast in a Jar”. It’s nutritious, yummy and so easy to prepare!

Style in White :: Breakfast in a JarINGREDIENTS

Serving :: 1

  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 3/4 cup almond milk, preferably homemade, or unsweetened
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 tbsp almond butter


  • 1-2 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp of chia seeds
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • dark chocolate


In a blender, mix all the ingredients together. You can cut and keep some banana pieces for garnishing and add shaved chocolate. Pour everything in a jar and keep it refrigerated for 4 hours or until the next morning.

I actually don’t really like oats, but in this recipe, I don’t mind it at all. It actually keeps me full. However, I love the sweet and delicate taste of the almond milk and almond butter mix together with the banana.
